About Ryann Marks LCSW-R
(formerly Ryann Hartmayer)
I’m a trauma-informed private practice therapist, consultant, and mom based in Orchard Park, NY
Being a therapist isn’t just a job for me. I truly care about my clients, and am incredibly invested in the work we do together. I believe trust is the foundation of good therapy, so nothing is more important than creating safety, ensuring each client truly feels seen, and not judged. I also believe that being a great therapist isn’t enough, you also need to be a great teacher – helping people to learn new skills and apply in their lives.
Ryann is a graduate of the School of Social Work at the University at Buffalo, and has been practicing in the social work field for 15 years.
She started her career as a mental health counselor at Horizon Health Services and then moved to Roswell Park Cancer Institute where she worked as a medical social worker.
She started her private practice in 2013 and has continued to grow her practice since that time. She specializes in working with adults 18+ that struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and loss, and trauma.
She provides individual counseling and couples counseling. She has experience running support groups and has developed programming for previous employers. She has run supervision groups with peers and facilitated educational and self help groups.
Ryann continues in her own growth as a therapist by obtaining consultation and attending regular trainings. She is trained in EMDR, IFS, Gottman methods, pre and post partum support, CBT, and DBT. She is starting to expand her practice by offering consultation to other therapists in the private practice community.
She abides by the NASW Social Work Code of Ethics and believes that every person should be met with respect, curiosity, and empathy.
She is married and has a daughter and rescue pup. In her free time she loves hiking, skiing, traveling, good food, and enjoying a laugh with family and friends. She values close relationships, spending time in nature, and learning new things.
